With over 80 majors to choose from, courses in the College offer the most academic variety of the schools at KU, and include history, literature, chemistry, biology, mathematics, art history, anthropology, psychology and political science, to name a few. You may study one or more of 30 foreign languages.
The more than 600 faculty that make up the College are dedicated to advancing the world’s knowledge in literally all areas of scholarship and disseminating that knowledge to the undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing a variety of College degrees.
The College also oversees the general education curriculum at KU. We take seriously the stewardship of the general education curriculum and thus make significant contributions to the educational experience of every KU student.
Our overall goals for students who study in the College are to:
• foster creativity,
• prepare students for an ever-changing world,
• enhance quantitative, communication, and writing skills,
• build problem solving skills,
• provide research and scholarship opportunities, and
• provide students with concentrated coursework in a variety of areas
of study.
